SCYA APPEALS PROCEDURE

The procedure for filing an appeal of a decision of a Protest Committee is set forth in The Racing Rules of Sailing, 2005-2008, Appendix F.  The outline below is a guideline for appeals, and describes how the SCYA Appeals Committee implements that appendix.

Notes:

 

·        APPENDIX F AND THE APPEAL FILING PROCEDURE HAS BEEN CHANGED IN THE NEW (2005-2008) VERSION OF THE RULES.

·        The preferred method of correspondence with the SCYA Appeals Committee is via email. When submitting the information in item 4 above, it is requested that the appellant include email addresses where available. The email address for the Appeals Committee will be provided in item 7 above.

·        Once the appeal is under consideration, copies of all correspondence and documents must be simultaneously distributed to all parties and the Protest Committee as well as the SCYA Appeals Committee. The Appeals Committee may also request additional information from the Protest Committee or a party, or take other actions authorized by the Rules.

·        Please do not send materials to US SAILING or the SCYA Appeals Committee in a manner requiring a receipt signature as it may significantly delay delivery. The mailing address for filing an appeal is:
